... I got myself in the middle of two rebuilds at the same time. My wife tracked down my 69 short bed fleetside 4x4 that I had for about 11 years before we got married. The guy I sold it to had it for the last ten years. (Ten year anniversary present). Well, the guy decided it made a good battering ram, and what Michigan's weather didn't destroy, he took care of the rest. So, the truck came with a 2wd stepside... Body is okay but not great. My wife fell in love with that truck and now I'm really in deep. I'm picking up another good body, but it has 68 fenders on it. Yeah, I'm aware the differences, and bummed out. Still trying to decide whether or not to use those good fenders on my wifes truck and then try to find a good 68 grill, or find a set of 69-72 fenders for her as well. Got to concentrate on mine right now though. It's closer to being ready.
Anyone reading... Was/is there a place that sells repro's in Michigan? even if I pick up a set for the wifes's truck and see how they line up. That might give me a good indication of their quality and fit.
Neither truck is going to be a blue ribbon winner in the end. they'll be nice, but drivers.
