Andy, I have a 5.3-700R4 in my S10. If you buy a drive by cable LS motor you don't need the pedal. The drive by wire motors are newer. I'm running a HP tuner on my ECM and it's basically a cleaned up stock tune. I have a set 3:42's in back with 28inch tall tires. I can cruise all day at 70 and get 20+ for mpg's. If you look around you can find LS motors with what I consider low miles fairly cheap.
