You are correct, a cab and chassis would have a 14 bolt typically, while regular duallys would have the Dana 70HD. A 73-87 C&C 14 bolt would be a direct bolt in, but may be too narrow if you currently have a dually width Dana 70. You could also bolt in a SRW 14 bolt, it is a little wider than a C&C, but not as wide as a dually axle. As far as later axles, I am not positive, but I think the later 88+ model 14 bolt dually axles have a wider spring perch spacing, so you may have to cut and weld new perches on. Also note, 3/4 ton SRW 14 bolts have wider perch spacing as well.
