if thats the case you just might get away with replacing the valve and the little rod for the carb
it ran till it overheated so i guess the rod dint fell to far in the engine and it didnt reved while it happened
its old detroid iron it takes a little more than a little rod to kill it
oh and buy a watertemp gauge while youre getting your materials
