Another disc brake conversion question

Hey guys! I pretty much know my options regarding converting to front discs. However, I'm not real clear as to whether or not there is any advantage to 71 - 72 ball joints and tie rod ends vs using the earlier ones? Are they better, more durable, etc? Thanks!
