Good lord, this conversation is following right down the same path I encountered!

The CPP frame mounts I used are mounted in the front 2 holes. They are supposed to locate the SBC in the stock location but use a 1969 Camaro (safety) block mount. I did this as the stock style motormounts can come completely apart when they fail.

Once I had the motor mounted, I made the block side bracket. I was unable to locate a replacement. I just used 1/4"x1" bar stock. I also had to tap the forward hole in the block. Then I used a frame side stud located square with the frame bracket. This means I ended up using outer studs for both ends.

I was never able to find a stock z-bar that worked, So I essentially made my own.
