Well figured out that my casting is a 193, the lightweight casting from the mid 80's. Here is the description:
Mid-’80’s style centerbolt cover with restrictive vane cast in intake port (hi-swirl); not recommended for high-performance applications
I found an 882 replacement on the internet with the following description:
882 casting w/ 1.75" Intake Valves.Large chamber (76cc), hardened exhaust valve seats, compromised intake port(‘71-’76 350/400cid), best of lightweight heads
Is the 882 just as bad as the 192 like was suggested in this post? I will be pulling a 3000 lb. trailer with this and don't want to have the same thing happen in a year.
