Make your own vacuum advance line

Instead of paying $15-45 for a vacuum advance line, I came up with an easy alternative for my inline 6/Rochester 2 barrel using parts I had lying around (also available cheap).
  1. Replace the existing compression fitting at the base of the carb with a 3/16 inverted flare brake fitting.
  2. Grab a 3/16 brake line, and leaving one fitting on for the inverted fitting on the carb, bend to fit from carb to distributor.Name: InvertedFlare.JPG

  3. Connect the vacuum advance line to the vacuum advance using a chunk of tubing (probably longer than this one).Name: LineWithHose.jpg

  4. Clamp down with a cushion support clamp.
