Re: What are your thoughts on 3rd generations, specifically a 1976 Chevy Sport
I grew up riding around in the square bodies, and they kind of symbolize what a "truck" is supposed to be in my mind. I always wanted a short box 4x4 when I was in high school.
I particularly love the square body Jimmy's. My mother drove a 76 for about 10 years. Got it used in the mid 80's. 350, auto, 4-barrel, full time 4x4, and duals with glass packs. Someday I'm going to find one and recreate that vehicle in her memory. She loved that rusty POS.
However, I learned to drive in the old 1969 K10 farm truck, so when I decided to go for a project vehicle I wound up with my '70.
