Keep us informed! I had a local guy that I asked to service (drop the pan, change the oil, check the regulator/governor) and he drove it once and said it needed a new tranny. Took it home and did everything I asked him to do and its been running fine and strong for 4 years. I'm sorry he got your money, but I would agree with the rest of the subscribers about the hookup on the torque conv. Even if you go somewhere else, I would ask him if he pulled the motor or messed with the dist/timing when he did the "work" so you can tell the next mechanic what may be the problem.
