I've had some bad deals on ebay twice, both times, they described an item where you couldn't really say they outright lied about anything, more they just misrepresented what it was or implied a different condition than what it was.
However, I've head enough great experiences on ebay, some of which have allowed me to get stuff I wouldn't have been able to justify the expense of otherwise that I will gladly continue to use ebay to purchase stuff.
It's just one of the hazards of doing business, but the good people seem to outweigh the bad ones IMHO.
