I'm going to replace the steering shaft assembly on my CC since I'm upgrading & cleaning things up in the engine compartment (ok... the whole truck actually).
So I check my local Oreillys & didn't see anything (could have been an internet deal as their site was experiencing issues). So I figured I would check w/the frequently marketed LMC to get an idea of possible costs. I about freaked when I saw the price for their 73-91 steering shaft kit....

Knowing that LMC doesn't make these, I decided to check a common manufacturing source for steering gear (Borgeson). Low & behold, I find the same thing. Even the description used is the same so my guess is this is where LMC is sourcing their part from. Lets see if you notice the
BIG difference....

So knowing this, I check the common aftermarket parts supplier Summit & find they offer the Borgeson parts line. A quick search using the p/n of this item & it's less vs from the mfr ....Plus, it's eligible for their 'Free Shipping' offer....

So be sure & do your homework when looking for parts. Sometimes digging a little deeper has it's rewards.
