He wont be out any money, all he has to do is file a non paying bidder form to get his final value fees returned to his account and ebay will let him relist it again without paying another fee.
I've sold alot on ebay and have been stiffed a few times myself, normally I would not agree with what you did, but after having several transactions off of ebay with this guy I believe you did the right thing. The stuff he sells is junk!
