Thanks. I have the service manual. For some reason, wiring is all greek to me, but I may have to do that. The wire is red not pink and it's a heavier gauge wire than most of the others under the hood.

As for the idle stop solenoid, the carb doesn't have one and this wire "appears" to be factory and is routed to the passenger side of the truck. Wouldn't the solenoid be on the throttle linkage on the driver side?
