Looks like a good project! I just recently finished rebuilding my front end. The only thing that worked for me to get the steering arm off was a socket large enough to clear the cone washers, then smack it with a BFH. I destroyed the socket, but it was so worth it
I see that you tried that trick already, but I promise that if you can get a good enough swing on it, those pesky cone washers will pop right out.
