The engine is pretty ratty. I was gonna chuck it and put this body on the 63 Chevy chassis until I read up on the V6s. Truxton's rebuild thread sealed the deal...

As I mentioned I bought two spare motors. One has a rod knock but runs. The other was going to replace it but would lock up before it made a full rotation. They came with lots of parts and I paid a little extra for a 500cfm Holley. They even threw in another one in the deal as well as a stocker and an alternator to replace the generator.
I removed the valve covers and rockers from the locked up motor and gave the valve stems a moderate smack with a rubber mallet one by one. The very last one was stuck! I got a little more aggressive with it and it is free. The motor spins through now...
My plan is to put the worst of everything on the motor in the truck so I can still drive it while I scrub and blast and prime and paint the best parts and collect gaskets, seals, etc...
I already have an adapter for the 500 and a rebuild kit.
Hopefully I can build one good motor from the two spares, sell it, and put the rest away for spares since parts are getting hard to find.
SO... my loose plans are to get the 16" wheels so I have some choice of tires, mild lowering, cleaning etc.
When that is accomplished I will know if the ride and performance is acceptable as it is. If not I will get the 1/2 ton frame. Paint, detail, lower, disc brakes, etc.
If I decide I don't want the V6 Hydramatic set up I will probably try to sell the complete chassis to a purist and come up with something other than a SBC for it.
