As I was doing the bodywork myself over the last 12 months, I kind of thought it would be better if I did the chassis first. However, when I talked to folks, especially the shop that squirted it, they told me it is better to just do the chassis once it is painted. It was a bit more work as I had to line up the doors and all panels again (first time to bodywork them perfect, second time to ensure the 2-tone lines will line up behind the trim, now again to finish the project. The nice part about the way I did it is that I did not have to worry about stepping on, dragging my air hose, overspray, or any of the other thousand things that might mess up the chassis while I was finishing the paint. Provided you have a safe place to keep the body while doing the chassis for a few weeks, I would not change the order.
