Re: Lambrecht Auction Underway
Your all welcome but it was my son in law, Brook Janes from Lincoln who posted these for me as he just went nuts over taking pictures of everything he thought was cool. Thus a few FORD pictures and Lumina van ones. I myself took over 300 pictures of mainly the 64-66 pickup details. As you can see from where we stood in the back of the 65 maroon pickup with 5 miles and looked out over the auction crowd swarm toward the 64--66 pickups that were about to sell. I got to admit, at that moment as I looked down at all my notes and research I had taken the last week about each of the 6 trucks I wanted to take home with a top dollar figure, you start to think whats another $2000 more? Then reality hits you that there isn't a chance in hell you are going to outbid the crazy people in this mob or the internet bidders who don't see what you have seen.
Just a quick note of what I observed from being there from Thursday evening to Saturday mid afternoon. Lambrecht purely never planned to sell these vehicles as he took them straight to this farm to forget about these mistakes and the 64-66 pickups I was told from some good sources went out to the farm right after the new next year models came in and had always sat outside there in the dirt then trees. Nothing but crusty lower frames and dried up rubber everywhere. Rust in every seam under the cowls and roofs above the visors. The black 66 BEFORE I saw it in person was the one I would have went after with big dollars but viewing it in person it was the rustiest of all from top to bottom. People viewing these low mile gems were the second hardest element on the trucks life as so many stupid people would get in and out of the trucks and jump up and down in the seats and turn all the switches and slam the doors and hoods and whatever else they could get their fingers on. Then I caught a woman and her husband tilt forward that 66 CST seat and she actually started trying to pull the build sheet from behind the seat cushion springs and tearing pieces of it. At least I captured their was a second build sheet under the lower cushion also she never found! Dip sticks and oil tubes were bent as everyone had to pull the dipsticks and try to push them back in. It was also a very sad day for those old girls too as many lost their virginity last weekend being raped by the crowd.
