I know that the question has been asked several times but I am looking for the best answer from experience.

I have a 72 c20 with a mildly built 5.7 Ltr and a 700 r4. The truck is rear leaf spring with 8 lug. I want to stay with the same wheel package since the previous owner had spent a lot of money on the set before I acquired the truck.

I am looking for the best swap out option for the factory 72 rear axle. I'm wanting to have disc brakes, positraction and remain 8 lug.

If anyone might know from experience which year and model truck will meet these needs please let me know.
