I have a '71 4wd so not totally familiar with the '67 but you normally would have 4LO, neutral, 2HI, and 4HI shift postions. In '67 the shift positions were a sticker or decal on the glove box and that may no longer be there. In '71 & '72 the shift postions were marked on the transfer lever shift knob. Have you looked under at the transfer case / shift lever area to make sure everything is good? Nothing bent, loose shift bar linkage (maybe even missing linkage ?) Lots of things can happen to mechanicals in 46 years. '67 I believe would have had a Rockwell transfer case. Try posting in the 4wd sectin and some one more knowledgeable should be able to help.
