Pulled these rear springs out of my truck today. This was the last time my truck was driven by my father hauling "birds". I wish now they were as light as real fluffy birds. Even 3/4 ton springs don't stand a chance when grossly overloaded. This is the result of 120 cases of "AA" clay pigeons at 35 pounds per case. Start working that math for a 1/2 ton truck!
It would explain the cause of the truck "shedding" all four hub caps while rolling on flat road and the heavy duty clutch starting to slip. Proof positive they made these truck tough.
