Barn door handle
I recently opened my rear barn door to a clunking sound. After further examination, I pushed the handle/plunger through to the inside of the door. Thankfully a previous owner had surgically hacked a speaker hole that I haven't gotten around to filling so I recovered the button from the door, but I can't find the springs / whatever is supposed to be with it.
Anyways, I've done some research into the handles, and this one is obviously different and not reproduced. A common solution is to epoxy an extension on a regular door handle. How well does this work? I've got a few spare truck handles from shaving my GMC 8-9 years ago, but could I transfer the button/plunger completely to one of those? Or would I be better off adding an extension?
Any help would be appreciated.
