Re: King Pins replacement- in my 1951 3800.
The vibration is similar to what I had years ago on a 56 that I had. The steering wheel gets pretty violent when it occurs. It does not occur all the time. I checked the bearings - they look good. Ajusted the steering box- it had very little slack and almost none when I got through. ( my luck in the past with these trucks is that the steering box is always worn out)The toe end /out was adjusted recently.I also checked the tierod ends and the drag link. The only measurable slack that I have is on the pass.side spindle in the king pin. Still I have driven worse - lots worse. I thought I looked at my tires but then again I have not done a soin balance. The wheels are clean also so thats where I am. thank for the info on the bushings - that tells me what i want to know about that . any other things to look at ??? speak up - you wont hurt my feeling - just want it fixed .
