The hose running over to your vacuum advance could be older / dry rotted and may have developed a small crack. If the engine is warmer, the hose is warmer too and the crack is not as noticeable to the engine. If it's really cold the hose shrinks a little, cracks open up and the vacuum leak becomes an issue. May explain why you never noticed it until it got really cold.

(total guess) .. but I'd replace that hose and see if it clears up.

Have you made any changes to the engine recently? just a daily driver? It does sound like vacuum advance issues to me, just my first thought anyway.
