Post a picture of your carb and distributor taken from the passenger front corner looking back toward the firewall. I'll point out which hose it would be.
Pull the hose off even,.. bend it under a good light and see if it might be a bit brittle. It could also be the vacuum advance as well as other good ideas above.
Which Edelbrock carb do you have?
