axle back to back needs to be centered on the frame or the truck will pull to one side or the other. universal joints take care of any pinion offset. My kid had a Mustang with a later rear end swaped in, one side was mounted on the perch, the other offset 3/4", it always was turning to the left ala NASCAR. She just delt with it, we disclosed it to the new owners.
