when i lived in illinois i always filled the bed with snow. you would be surprised hevy it gets plus if you wipe out you dont have to worry about something flying out of the bed and hitting you in the back of the head. my wifes father had some blocks in the back of his truck and when he crashed one hit him in the back of the head and that is how he passed away.
