Another difference is the spindles and rotors :
up till 1978 the outer front spindle is smaller dia .610,(uses A2 bearing)
while 1979-1981 have a larger spindle dia .690(uses A3 bearing)

So if you want to use drop spindles need to know which will work with your rotors.
