This happened to me 13 years ago...they argued that it wasn't worth much...funny thing is they don't have a blue book on trucks this old...so I used that against them by buying a book on car and truck values...This forced them to review the claim and pay up. One thing that I did was found a small local shop willing to fix it and not total it out. Good luck and let us know how things work out.
