Re: 1961 shortbed fleetside BBW
Then once it was home I started to work on it. I got the truck running really well and took it for a drive and the clutch was slipping really bad. so I decided to pull the motor and tranny and reseal everything and put a new clutch in it... and while i had the motor pulled i figure i might as well paint the firewall and framerails. I decided I wanted to go with factory 1961 colors so I picked Neptune Green 703a and Bombay Ivory 701c. This truck was factory 721a Pure White but I like the two tone look better. I painted the firewall Bombay Ivory and the framerails black. Painted the engine Neptune Green. Resealed the engine, put a new water pump on it, rebuilt the carb, did a tune up, and got a chrome pushrod cover plate and chrome valve cover for it. I also modified the original road draft tube to make it work with a pcv so it doesn't puke so much oil over everything. Then I decided I would paint the interior so i took all the glass out and prepped and painted the inside of the cab bombay ivory and the dash Neptune green. Got new carpet and had a seat from a 96 chevy singlecab recovered for the truck.
