I am no CLR expert. In my opinion the hazy part you are taking off is oxidized paint. The green pad is taking off that last little bit of original paint that was left over the original primer in those thin spots. It looks like you may be rubbing a little hard. The pressure points (corners) seem to be taking the brunt of the pad.
