Are you looking to go down to one ton or below chassis or just trying to get away from the hard to find brake parts etc.? I am doing a 68 c50 and I bought an 89 c50 box truck for the running gear. That gets me power steering, 4 wheel disk brakes with hydra boost and a two speed rear axle with gears that will let it run down the highway. Unfortunately it still has that hard to find lug pattern on the wheels. Also i will need to either narrow the front axle or find some wide axle front fenders like the c60s had. My problem is that the 89 is so nice that I'm having a hard time convincing myself to knock it in the head.

Post some pictures so we can see what you have!
