I have thought about this as well as i know the new rear tank i have is a couple gallons smaller than stock, i've concidered finding a good switch to go back and forth, my thinking is to always use the rear tank unless traveling and just make sure the one behind the seat is empty most all the time and also find a way to switch the gauge from one tank to the other.
