Very cool! I personally like the "A" without the line. It kinda looks cool to me.

If you want to stamp it in the metal, you could get a piece of stock whatever the width you want i,t and grind the angles on each side it to make a die. You could take a piece of hard rubber (like a sanding block) and get somebody to hold that on the front side tightly against the gate. You'd just have to position your die where you want it on the backside and smack it as squarely as possible. I have fixed bent factory letters with this method, and it works pretty good.
