New guy in Georgia
Howdy, been reading a while and decided to join. Lots of great info here has helped me numerous times.
I have a 61 C-10 SWB fleetside I'm doing a resto-mod on for my wife and a 66 LWB fleetside I plan to keep original for me.
The 61 "Marilyn" was rough so I've put in a front suspension from a 76 and added power steering and power brakes. Also added a 12 bolt from a 72 and welded new perches on it and upgraded it with new a 3:73 gear set and Eaton Posi. I had a buddy with a Bridgeport mill the backing plates from a 96 impala SS to fit the tubes and now have discs on the back too with the park brake in the rotor hat. I have a 350 with 327 heads and a 700R4 to go in this truck and then I'll start body work. It has a LOT of work it needs including all new cross members.
The 66 "Fred" was in a good shape for its age. Was a single family truck with a camper on it so still has the original bed wood in pretty decent shape. Has a few small rust places but all in all is a good daily driver shape after new tires, oil, plugs, carb rebuild and other small things. It sat for 10 years but a little persistence let the 283 live again. It has 62k miles on it and my plan is to do a restoration on it back to original paint and keep the mechanical stock.
This is a sickness but I like it
