Well they are handy if you are running around the back roads in the woods.
I'd say putting one in your truck all depends on the "theme" of the build or restoration. If you are restoring the truck to showroom stock plus all of the dealer installed accessories that were available, head on and put one in it as it fits the theme. If you have 20 inch billet wheels, an LS engine and bucket seats NO, it doesn't fit the build.
I've always liked them since I was a kid and if I was doing a restoration or resto truck I'd probably be looking for one.
