If you wire brush it and are using Por-15 be sure to use their degreaser followed by the acid etch. The wire brush isn't abrasive enough to get a good stick, and the por-15 will lift off in sheets from what I've read. I haven't seen any evidence of that on mine, but I sandblasted and then etched it.
