Step by Step wheel painting 3

Finally, after letting the primer set for 30-45 minutes, I applied the first coat of silver paint. This layer was thin/sparse enough to allow the primer to remain visible. Adding thin layers one at a time will result in a smooth surface.

Every 30 mins or so, I went back and lightly re-coated the prior layer. After three layers, or so, I had a nice finished product!

Can't wait to get the rubber on them!

I am going to replace the lug studs on the truck and get some short chrome lug nuts. I plan to run these wheels typically without hubcaps, however I did order some crappy CHEAP 3/4 ton caps that I am going to repaint. Since I am not building a show car, I don't see any sense in spending a lot on things that can simply be resurfaced/refinished with a little elbow grease and paint!

Good luck with your build!
