Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to provide information.

I did some budget predictions and some thoughts on the final look. I think being a 1 1/2 ton it would be best to restore it the way it is. I am looking for a project for my new body shop and I think a big 'ole truck would get lots of attention. My reasonings are that this is a VERY complete truck, down to the near perfect grille, trim and working 2-speed rear end.

If this was a 1 ton with the "smaller" hood and fenders a 1/2 ton conversion would be easier. But to someone who knew these old trucks they would know right away that it wasn't a 1/2 ton.

So I'm going to restore this truck and go vivid canary for the color.

I'm going to start tearing down soon so ill be posting update pics.
