Holy ressurrection! A T56 will work in our trucks. You move the shifter forward to the inspection cover, new trans xmember, cut the floor back to the ridge and convert your clutch pedal to use a MC. You will have to lengthen the clutch line though from the master to the slave since the stock one will be too short. If using a LT1 T56 it will bolt up just fine, an LS1 requires an adapter plate although I have heard that 5 of the 6 bolts line up even if you don't.
