That is not a tow boom, it is a set of Gin Poles, most trucks like this were used in the oilfields, they usually have a 10,000lb winch buried in the bed of the truck (flush with the floor), the gin poles can usually fold forward after you take out the "A" frame which carries a snatch block. There is usally a toggle block attached to the rear of the bed in the center that routes the cable up ward........in a true oilfield bed there will also be a tail roller across the rear of the flat bed........ Still see a lot of these around Oklahoma and Texas.....Kieth
