Need help with front lowering spring ride

Ok everyone, I need some help. I have a 1990 Suburban and have been tossing back and forth to lower it. Here is why I can't make up mind. October 2012, I was hit by a drunk driver in my wife's lifted Grand Cherokee. I ended up having another back surgery. I have a total of five disc's fused now. Pretty much in pain all the time. The factory ride on my suburban is great and I really don't want to mess with it. Heck, it rides much better than my wife's Subaru. Every day I look at it and it needs to be lowered. I can't bag it, most of my funds go to my youngest sons sports & my oldest sons project. This is what I'm thinking. Drop the rear 4 inches, the front with a 2.5 drop spindles (keeping 15" factory steel wheels) and 1" lowering coil spring.

What type of front lowering coil spring gives the best ride? Also, is there a difference between 80-87 suburbans and 88-91? It a pain in the ass when looking stuff up for a 90. I just want the stance lower and keep my nice ride.

Please give your opinions which you think would be the best or your opinion for a better set up than what I'm thinking.
