Which vacuum port on the carb do you have the vacuum advance hooked up too.
Looking at the carb the Left side is the ported advance ( HEI ) . The Righrt side is non-ported ( Manifold Vacuum all the time )
Both will work if you are on the (Hei) Left side try switching to the other side and see if it makes a difference. Make sure you plug the side you aren't using.l

Also when the engine is Hot is the choke butterfly fully open ?
