Lots of 203 haters her but I have had good experience with mine. Got is used in 1985, had it rebuilt with a Doug Nash shaft conversion kit. Drove it 7K+ miles a year until 2000, with lots of off road in mud, snow, fording streams, etc. without any problems, I always ran out of nerve before potential. Only drawback was the factory shifter, I got real good at jumping under the truck with a big screw driver to get it OUT of 4wd. I converted it to a twin stick, link to thread is below. Drove the truck in new configuration a couple of weeks ago just up and down the street but it seems to be working fine. I never had any issues with need more fluid, etc. but then at least once every two weeks the hubs got locked in and the unit used.
