You can build a hybrid system with the H6 compressor and custom lines. I did...

I would change the condenser to a higher efficiency parallel flow unit. Not because R134 is thicker... Where did that come from??? R134 is less efficient so the temp difference needs to be more pronounced than R12 at the evaporator.
I would also flush the evaporator and any steel lines that are not changed out. Replacing the dryer goes without saying.
Use Ester oil JIC some tiny amount of R12 oil is left in the system.
Use a Variable Orifice Valve rather than the R12 fixed orifice valve.
