So to answer the question, All my trucks are Nellie
When faced with a similar situation, my grandfather, my father, and now I will put our hand on the dash and tell our young passengers to "Push! Push hard!" My father also has a tendency to go into a "Whoa horse!" Yosemite Sam routine when braking hard. He also had/has a rather nasty habit of waiting until his passenger (usually me) had just fallen asleep and then smacking the vinyl bench seat with all of his might and yelling, "Bang!"

Both my grandfather and my father's old trucks are nicknamed "Old Blue" and I call mine that more often than not.
