I mounted mine so that it would fulfill 2 desires. One that makes it easy to fix a stopped up drain problem by simply disconnecting it at the plastic tubing/solid tubing connection. Second I did not want to run it through the firewall (creating another hole) with the water running down the firewall. I did not want the water running down any metal. I wanted it to drip down onto the road. Plus the fact I did away with and covered up the cowl vent as well as the side vent.
