I've had multiple trucks apart in my driveway that were equipped w/1.25" front brakes (my old 74, Jonboys 79, & a co-workers 82). They didn't have the wider HD rear brakes.
From info I searched, it seemed those brakes were typically on burbs or ordered as an option.
