I use a Dremel tool for almost all of my cutting, even on solid steel up to 1/4" thick. But instead of the little "break easy" discs, I use these EZ Lock style with a locking hub in the middle that looks like the Batman emblem. I mostly use the "THIN CUT" versions rather than the ones marked METAL. They are about half as thick and really make precise cuts.
The hub will tear out if too much deflection is introduced, but they never fly apart. They just spin around the hub when broken, making for a simple change to a new cutting wheel.
