what I did was slide the xmember into the frame and push it back enough so I could jack the trans up and bolt it to the motor, then supported the trans with a jack so I could slide the xmember in place and loosely attach the rear trans mount so I could take measurements and make marks for where to drill the new holes...
Takes all the guess work out of it....
